Micro-Needling
Micro-needling, also known as Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT) is a highly effective treatment using a small handheld device that triggers a healing response in the deeper layers of the skin by making tiny punctures in skin surface using tiny needles.
This causes miniscule traumas to the surface of the skin and encourages the skin to shed damaged cells on the surface and replace with new, healthy cells, leaving a radiant complexion. The process activates the release of new collaged and elastin to help repair previous skin damage.
Micro-needling is ideally suited to improve acne scarring, enlarged pores, fine lines, wrinkles and a dull complexion. As the skin repairs itself, the production of collagen and elastin is triggered to also provide a plumping effect.
Micro-needling treatments are less invasive than cosmetic surgery, resulting in minimal downtime and can offer visible results immediately. Additional serums can be applied to the skin to further boost your results, as the active ingredients in the skincare can penetrate the skin deeper.

FAQ: Micro-Needling
For collagen induction, we recommend a minimum of 3 treatments, repeated every four to six weeks. For scar reduction, we would expect an average of three to six treatments spaced similarly, every four to six weeks.
While some results will be almost immediate, your best results should develop over four to six weeks after the procedure.
Whilst there are a number of benefits to micro-needling, it is important to know its limitations. It is important not to perform micro-needling on active acne, as you run the risk of infection.
It would be prudent to avoid blemished areas during micro-needling, or at the very least to wait until the pimples have disappeared.
If your skin is irritated or inflamed, or if you have eczema or rosacea, our experts advise not to have the treatment. As micro-needling aids in the absorption of skincare products, your skin may react differently to the ingredients and may become irritated.
It is important to ensure you are not using products that are not formulated for use with micro-needling.
Prior to the treatment, we apply a numbing cream to the areas that will be treated. Most of our patients experience a sensation that they describe as slightly uncomfortable, particularly around more sensitive areas such as the nose, but not painful.
Each patient’s sensitivity will vary, but most describe the process as that of “tingling” or “pinching” and entirely tolerable.
