Peyronie’s Disease Treatment

in Birmingham

Peyronie's Disease is a condition which causes the penis to become curved in appearance due to the fibrous tissue becoming damaged - usually due to an injury or vigorous sexual intercourse. People with the disease may experience soft erections, lumps and pain which really impact the quality of life

Men with the disease often find it very painful, especially when it comes to intercourse. This debilitating condition rarely goes away by itself, frequently becoming even worse if left untreated. The right treatment plan is critical for addressing this disease, which can be embarrassing for many people and complicated to treat.

At our Edgbaston Clinic, we will instantly put you at ease during your private consultation and one of our experienced gynaecologists will recommend the best treatment plan. We have a range of the latest advanced methods to suit your personal condition and needs. These include Hyaluronic Acid Fillers, PRP, Ultrasound and Shockwave Treatment.

ENJOY A WIDE RANGE OF OUR Peyronie's Disease TREATMENTS

No matter how special your health concerns or requests regarding Peyronie's disease treatment are, we are ready to assist you in the most appropriate way.

Ultrasound

Ultrasound technology can be really key to properly diagnose the best treatment method for you. As the area of plaque, scar tissue and lumps can be properly examined at a deeper level with ultrasound technology, it really helps with your diagnosis and specific treatment plan.

Hyaluronic Acid Fillers

Hyaluronic Acid Fillers can help to reduce the inflammation and formation of scar tissue within the penis. When the Hyaluronic Acid Fillers are administered, they help to break down the plaque which has formed and reduce the penis’ curved appearance.

PRP

PRP or Platelet Rich Plasma is an advanced treatment which uses the patient’s own blood to repair the damaged cells and tissue. This method is non-invasive and totally safe, as no foreign treatment is being administered. PRP can greatly improve the curved shape of the penis over time, as well as reducing the size of plaques. This can then improve the quality of the patient’s life by improving pain, sexual intercourse and erections.

Shockwave Treatment

Those who are experiencing lumps and pain in their penis as a result of the disease can benefit from Shockwave Treatment. Multiple shockwaves are fired at the lumps, causing them to break up, similar to the shockwave treatment used for Kidney Stones. The treatment is totally non-invasive, and our gynaecologist will prescribe a treatment course to best suit your needs.

All you need to know about PEYRONIE’S DISEASE TREATMENT

You may have other questions about the procedure that may not have been answered yet. Here are some of the most frequently asked questions regarding Peyronie's disease treatment.

What causes Peyronie’s Disease?

Peyronie’s Disease is usually caused by trauma or injury to the penis, however some men do not recall an injury, and it could be due to age. Some people believe Peyronie’s Disease could be hereditary or due to environmental factors.

How do you spot Peyronie’s Disease?

Many men first experience lumps underneath the skin of the penis, which is then diagnosed as Peyronie’s Disease or an upward curve in the penis, along with pain. Excessive plaque accumulation can also shorten the penis and make it feel tight. Erectile dysfunction and pain during sexual intercourse are also key symptoms.

What happens if Peyronie’s disease is left untreated?

If left untreated, your symptoms may get worse such as a more curved appearance, more lumps forming and even less of an ability to achieve erections. Along with these symptoms which will affect your quality of life, you will experience increasing pain as the disease progresses. The disease rarely goes away on its own, so medical help is needed.

Will Peyronie’s Disease affect my fertility and sex life?

Peyronie’s Disease can not affect your fertility levels, but it can make sexual intercourse painful and alter your erections. Therefore, the disease can have a huge impact and the curved appearance can make it difficult for both you and your partner.

How long does Peyronie’s Disease last?

The disease is permanent, but there are many treatment options available to cure the symptoms you are experiencing.

Which treatment is best for me?

Our experienced gynaecologists will be able to put you at ease and assess your individual situation. They will be able to discuss your symptoms and determine whether you are in the acute or chronic phase of Peyronie’s Disease.

What is the acute phase and the chronic phase of Peyronie’s Disease?

The acute phase of Peyronie’s Disease is when the symptoms described first start to appear, and the chronic phase is when the plaque has formed with no further curving of the penis.

How do you diagnose Peyronie’s Disease?

You will be able to discuss your symptoms and lifestyle in confidence at the clinic, where the gynaecologist will put your mind at ease. A physical exam and urology tests will be performed, along with the use of the latest ultrasound technology to analyse the plaque.

Very friendly staff with a wide range and treatments, and the knowledge of how to apply those treatments. Very relaxed atmosphere, where you can discuss (without pressure) what you would like to enhance, about the way you look. They've altered my life and how I feel about myself in a very short time. I had no idea that I could alter (without surgery) my physical shape. This seemed to happen almost magically while we were chatting through the totally painless procedure. I'm very happy that I found you guys at Medispa, many thanks

I have been visiting EF Medispa, Edgbaston for a few months now and I can honestly say it has so far been a very positive experience. The team are so friendly and welcoming, you are always greeted with big warm smiles. I initially had my consultation with Sarah, who was lovely and very knowledgeable. She explained the whole procedure to me before treatments commenced. I also cannot speak highly enough of Kelly who has been carrying out my treatments. She always makes me feel at ease, from the very start she has walked me through the process of the whole procedure, answers all my questions and tells me what the benefits are. I would highly recommend coming to EF Medispa, Edgbaston, it is a spotless and pristine clinic and not only that, you will be well looked after by all the professional, friendly and welcoming staff from the moment you walk through the door.

Not only can I see mass amount of improvements, I’ve created such a friendship with the staff. I walked in feeling under confident and insecure, however, Beth and Sarah have both made my self esteem higher than ever. Can’t thank them enough, going here is more like a catchup with friends!
